Mary Katrantzou is a global phenomenon. And if you needed further proof, it came this season in a world-tour of stamp and currency prints. This collection was money! Since 2008, Mary has demonstrated her love for all things bling with digital prints inspired by Fabergé eggs, perfume bottles, and Babe Paley-esque interiors. But for Spring/Summer 2013, she raided the bank. Mary's signature silks came swirled with the curlicues and watermarks of retired legal tender from Greece, Germany, the UK, and Malta, overlaid one on top of the other for counterfeit-proof Katrantzou opulence. The culmination was a dress made from what looked like 24-karat chain mail. Overall, however, the emphasis was on shapes that you could work into an everyday wardrobe—which means even more ways to feel like a million dollar bill.
