Lost in a world of old master paintings, Carven's fall girl is as pretty and Parisian as ever. For her tour of the city's galleries, she wears a wardrobe of Guillaume Henry's modern classics: shrunken cable-knit sweaters, matching blazers and pants, and draped dresses. Prints take a fittingly Renaissance turn, quoting tapestries and scenes by Hieronymus Bosch.

Established: 1945 by Carmen de Tommaso
With a history of outfitting European royalty, the house of Carven has been a bastion of delicate luxury and expert design for over 60 years. Dedicated to an air of superior elegance—mixed with freedom and irreverence, too—the French label offers refined, adventurous mens and womenswear that allows its wearer's personal style to shine through. In 2009, Givenchy designer Guillaume Henry took the helm, helping Carven to reclaim its seat at the top. (But don't call it a comeback!)
