Colloquially known as "velllies," Veldskoen boots are worn by just about everyone in Namibia, from bushrangers to university students. They are the original “desert boot,” handsewn from two pieces of kudu hide. Herbert Schier’s are made by a workshop of eight Damara gentlemen on the Namibian coast. The team turns out just 20 pairs in an afternoon, so this pair—in custom OC colors—is 100% unique!

Herbert Schier's "Veldskoen" boots are made in a small village on the Namibian coast. Colloquially known as "vellies," the shoes are worn by just about everyone in Namibia, from university students to bushrangers—providing the inspiration for the modern-day desert boot. At the Schier workshop, a team of eight local gentlemen hand-stitches each boot from two pieces of wild kudu hide. Turning out just 20 pairs in an afternoon, the shoemakers get creative with textural patchworks and bright savannah colors.
