6 Days Till OC Tokyo: A Film by Matt Wolf featuring Jason Schwartzman for Opening Ceremony Tokyo
From director Matt Wolf comes the second film in the Opening Ceremony Japan short film series. Starring the multi-talented actor, singer-songwriter, and long-time O.C. friend Jason Schwartzman, Matt's film follows a forlorn kite flier (sporting a curiously familiar crest-printed kite) grounded by a sad, rainy day. Having been fans of both Jason's acting as well as musical efforts and Matt's (incredibly beautiful and heartwrenching) film Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russel, we at O.C. felt these two would make a great team.
Matt shot Jason in Toronto between filming for his upcoming movie based on the popular graphic novel series, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, directed by Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz fame ("Spaced," anyone?). In true O.C. fashion, these artists deliver a pitch-and-picture-perfect collaboration, with Matt handling the video and Jason delivering a stellar performance and soundtrack: the song "Microphone" from Jason's latest musical effort, Davy, released under the auspices of his Coconut Records solo-project. Check out the video, which we've reproduced below.
