So Happy (Tied) Together: Nike Run 2010

Yesterday morning, I took part in the Nike Tied Together run, an epic journey in response to a global health crisis. Nike and (RED) are working together to leverage the power of sport to fight HIV/AIDS through a focus on two initiatives: education and medication. Nike will contribute 100% of its profits from the sales of (NIKE) RED Laces to the Global Fund and to support soccer-based programs to help fight AIDS in Africa. Teams in New York, London, Milan, Berlin, and Paris are on the move for 120 consecutive hours to help fight this disease, and I was happy to be one of them with team COACD. My first experience working with COACD was being cast for Patrik Ervell's SS08 show. Since then, COACD (along with OC) has become my second family that I couldn't live without!

Teams like Vice, Max Fish, Saturdays, Ace Hotel, Supreme, and Nike SB were just a few of the other NYC teams participating in the event. The Ace Hotel team passed the baton to us in Union Square, and we weaved our way through the streets of New York, making our way past the LGBT Community Center, Magnolia Bakery, Chelsea Piers, all the way to Tribeca where we passed the baton over to Hot 97.

See Kai Regan (Tied Together director / photographer) in the COACD Malendar, and check out the live feed at Tied Together’s site, which is blogging the event 'til it ends in Paris on June 10th!
