Hanging around Howard Street (OCNY's home turf) sometimes feels like a safari. It's hard to make it to The Smile for lunch without scoping out a cute dog, guy, or, lately, backpack. And as it happens, our fall collections are full of some of the best backpacks around. I bullied our intern Jess into road testing some favorites around Chinatown. First up: a Nasir Mazhar drawstring pack that is just one among many insane pieces from his fall collection (faux fur, netting, beads—I can't).
For something a bit more traditional, check out Outdoor Products. The Cali line has been making Cordura backpacks since 1973 but was recently taken over by a new Japaense team. Check out the cute mismatched straps at the back! Our other picks: handmade Spanish leather by Steve Mono, camo from Korean brand MVIO, and a Jeremy Scott bag that I basically have no words for.
