Chic on the outside, freak underneath. It's a perfect formula for life, boys, even clothes. Just take a look at Highland's fall collection. The Brooklyn line's newest coats are fitted with technicolor animal-print linings. In contrast, the exterior fabrics were chosen for their outdoorsy realness: mohair, tweed, and felt are built for braving the wild. As designer Lizzie Owens expained when we visited the Highland studio earlier this year, the textiles were inspired by Joseph Beuys' installation I Like America and America Likes Me, in which the German artist confined himself in a room with a coyote. So it's all about survival; wrap up with super warm merino knits and mohair six-panel caps.
