For the past 15 years, I have been escaping away for short and long trips to the desert. I don't know what it is about the desert that makes me feel so at ease; could be the vast dry landscape or the multitude of stars, or maybe I am just purely fascinated by the randoms that walk about aimlessly. The desert always reveals a new mystery even after 15 years of treading my way through it.
Amongst my various trips, I had the great opportunity of visiting the Integratron in Landers, California (which is near Joshua Tree). It is a dome that was created by an aeronautical engineer who was one of the leaders of the UFO movement and imagined both a perpetual energy machine as well as a landing strip for alien spaceships. Built in 1954, the Integratron remains a hidden secret where you simply indulge in a "Sound Bath" or reconnect with your inner alien!
