Apocalyptic Optimism: The Savage Detectives at RH Gallery
On Tuesday The Savage Detectives, a show curated by Tyler Healy, opened at RH Gallery in Tribeca. The Savage Detectives are Jack Greer, Tyler Healy, Sandy Kim, Dean Levin, Evan Robarts, and Peter Sutherland, all of whom share a love of skateboarding. These guys have been grinding, sliding, and flipping their boards in their urban habitats for years, both inhabiting these places as well as destroying them. And as you may know, finding the perfect spot to skate can sometimes compare to detective work. But once that place has been found, the ride is on and it's pure joy from there. This show is simply a celebration of that moment, which they've collectively called "apocalyptic optimism." Check the pics from the opening below.
