While many brands look for innovative collaborations to take their designs into never before seen territory, Converse’s latest collaboration goes back to a time-honored tradition. “I wanted to bring together the history of Florence and Converse’s legacy,” designer Ryusaku Hiruma of Sak says of the collab. The Japan-born designer moved to Florence twelve years ago to master Italian craftsmanship, and these shoes prove that his efforts did him well. Ryusaku has literally put his hand on every pair of the classic Chuck style he’s revamped. Each shoe is hand-stitched from every toe bumper to cut out star on the laces, to the leather soles that make the shoe feel more like a dress shoe than something that’s ever touched the ground of a baseball field. With only 64 pairs of each style available worldwide, these are truly a masterpiece to be reckoned with.
