Fresh from the runway, shimmery submarine sneakers and work boots tackle the great outdoors Kenzo-style. Carven also tunes into something sporty, kitting out its mixed leather lace-ups with chunky Vibram soles—while keeping the old-fashioned construction of French schoolboy boots. In fact, just the kind of shoes traditionally made by Paraboot, the historic French shoemaker that teamed up with Mugler this season. Each pair of Mugler's fall monk-strap shoes was constructed at the Paraboot workshops, using 150 manual processes, the highest quality leather, and the company's classic waterproofed soles. Are you overwhelmed yet? Just one more: heading up the crop of returning favorites, Rachel Comey's new shoes just checked in. No one does fresh, New York-style lace-ups like she does, and the fall selection is full of clever innovations: streamlined shapes, contrast heels, and stacked rubber soles. OK, done!
