Robots, rhinestones, and tiny animals. Excuse me while I hyperventilate. I can't decide what I like most about Mark Walsh and Leslie Chin's fall collection: the little glass ducklings suspended in silver hoop earrings or the monsters with dangling diamanté orbs!
Mark and Leslie are artisinal jewlery makers best known for their ongoing collaboration with the Rodarte sisters. They design from New York but produce their line in Paris—this season using Swarovski crystals, resin, and poured glass. But rhinestones and gold plate aside, it's the scope of Mark and Leslie's imagination that hooks you. The fall collection asks so many questions, like: Why is this glass monster so smiley? (Probably because his arms are stripey and he's wearing a crystal choker.) Will these mice ever escape the silver claws? And who could look this POLKA-DOT CREATURE in its adorable shiny eye and say no?
