Mykki Blanco Tears Up Le Baron NYC
"Welcome to Hell, bitches! This is Mykki Blanco!" She might be New York's favorite rapping, cross-dressing Cosmic Angel, but on Thursday night Mykki Blanco took us somewhere hot, red, and subterranean––the downstairs room at Le Baron.

Her mutant cabaret more than lived up to its name, as Mykki displayed a seemingly unlimited stylistic range, making clear that she's a force for the rap game to reckon with whether it's ready or not. She switched effortlessly from the apocalyptic, righteous "Join the Militia" to the sinister slink of "Betty Rubble," interspersed with acapella verses and even a brief cover of Yeezy's "Mercy."

The show ended with the sexy, synthy Brenmar-produced banger "Wavvy." Despite the hellish ambiance, the unity of the crowd going HAM to Mykki's feral energy felt more like salvation.
