Musique Plastique at agnès b. New York
Last night, our neighb' agnès b. hosted a music-themed art show featuring visual works by Brian DeGraw, Jonas Mekas, Thurston Moore, David Shrigley, Alan Vega, and more, paired with the artists' aural compilations. The synesthetic show (Liz Wendelbo's 'Eau de Xeno' perfume added to the sensory experience) is named Musique Plastique––a play on the French term for fine arts, "arts plastiques." The show is only a sliver of the same exhibition that premiered at agnès' Galerie du Jour in Paris in 2011, but the music-meshed-with-art message it distills is no different. Check it before it closes on August 25th, 2012!
