Argentinean Slang Dictionary - 'Roto/a'
by Maria Lee
Stuck in Argentina with nothing but a couple of "Where's the nearest restroom, please" phrases in your vocabulary? Our ARGENTINEAN SLANG BOOK is here to save your trip.

The aftermath of fiestas can sometimes be brutal (as July 5th most likely was for a lot of Independence Day revelers). In Argentina, the slang expression of choice is roto (for the guys) and rota (for the girls)––the adjective meaning "broken." For example: Anoche seguí de gira y hoy esto roto! ("Last night I went out hard and today I'm really hungover!") One coconut water, por favor! And a very happy Independence Day to our Argentinean friends, too!
