For Autumn/Winter 2010, I’m really feeling Acne's Mad Max inspiration with emphasis on drapey silks and luxurious sheep skins - as apparent in jumpsuits, hooded biker jackets, and sexy trousers with millions of pockets. Here are some of my favorite women's pieces: Acne continues to stun with their beautiful collaboration with London based jeweller/artist Husam El Odeh, creating armored bracelets and chokers that are perfect for your inner Xena. As always, Acne brings their A-Game in ladies footwear.  My favorite's include metal armored derby's, metallic toned pumps, and the new updates on the Atacoma wedge that look like straight jackets for the feet. With my particular interest in men's coats there is no shortage of stylish and functional outerwear for men next winter.  What most people love about Acne is how they cleverly use the most functional of embellishments: pockets, zips, and luxury fabrics are all made fresh. Some of the best pieces this time around come in the form of cool leather jackets, and shearling trims. In other parts of the Acne collective, I spoke with Acne furniture designer, Andreas Fornell, about his new development of Acne furniture.  With inspiration from Swedish designer Carl Malmsten, creative director Jonny Johansson and Andreas developed a stunning line of sofas and chairs that tweak and distort Malmsten's designs by perspective. While most of my time was spent inside the warmth of Acne's beautiful headquarters, I was able to venture around the somewhat sublimely comforting cold and dark city.  With the sun setting near 4pm, and some pretty heavy jet lag, I was in need of a quick sugar rush...remedy, one of the local 7-11's on nearly every corner was able to deliver. After a full day's work...I headed over to the Stockholm based perfumer, Byredo, to check out their incredibly chic and cozy space and sample the unisex fragrances and candles.  In addition to last season's collaborative work with Byredo in developing a signature candle, Acne and Byredo have worked together once again, this time to capture the scent of a room in a new way for the pair.  They created Svart Sno (Black Snow), a perfume with notes of cumin, incense, and woods, solely for the remembrance of Acne's A/W10 presentation (and not to be produced further).  I was fortunate to score a bottle of this magic scent as one of the most reliable resources to remind me of my travels.
