Locals Only: At Home With Ailin Bisi
Locals Only' is a column in which we ask friends from ARGENTINA, our featured country, where they like to eat, thrift, hide out, and hang out in Argentina.
In this very special edition of Locals Only, Ailin Bisi of her namesake accessories label not only gives us her "best ofs" in Argentina, but takes us on an up-close and personal tour of her home!
Place for a low-key dinner with friends: Chan Chan—ask for the ceviche.
Restaurant for a first date: El Ultimo Beso is so romantic and kitsch!
Place for babe watching: You can spend an entire day in Palermo and visit Armenia Square. (There is a fountain and a small vintage merry-go-round that plays traditional songs from my childhood!)
Gallery: Fundación Proa is a gorgeous new gallery in the middle of La Boca. Also check out Jungla online, a new art and design studio brand based in Palermo—super conceptual.
Bookstore: Libros Del Pasaje is where I like to read and drink coffee
Favorite place to get coffee: Full City Coffee Company—real coffee!
Favorite vintage spot: El Mercado de San Telmo is hella cool
Best choripan sandwiches: By the river in Costanera Sur
Best steak: La Dorita
Best alfajor cookie: Cachafaz Mousse, which you can get from any drugstore. You will die, OMG!
Barrio to spend your Sunday: On Sundays I love to ride my bike across the city and through Avenida del Libertador. Start from the Palermo horse track at Libertador Ave and Dorrego St and continue to Puerto Madero's Faena art district.
Weekend getaway: Colonia de Sacramento is a tiny colonial town in Uruguay. By boat you can be there in 45 minutes—I always take the Buquebus or Colonia Express.
