If you combined a science fair with a Victorian wake and thick coat of gold, you might come close to visualizing the creepily beautiful feat of imagination that is Delfina Delettrez's spring collection. The Italian designer long ago captured our hearts with her enameled curiosities, Dalí-esque lips, and precious creepy-crawlies, and these favorites return in "Love Is in the Hair."
Inspired by Victorian mourning jewelry, the collection was presented in Paris last fall on a roomful of towering wigs. Exploring the storied power we hold in our tresses, necklaces enchant with tiny golden scissors and hanging resin hearts. Each piece feels truly personal: hand-painted bees, glass eyes, and drops of ruby "blood" are just some of the magical Delfina details on offer. One piece even includes a lock of the designer's own hair.
