Eager to find out what’s in store for us this year, the OC team recently went to an Astrology event with Susan Miller herself. Famed astrologer, friend of OC, and mom to Sophomore’s Chrissie Miller, Susan is always on point and our religious reading of her monthly horoscope made us want more.

Even if astrology isn’t your thing, you should still know this about the weekend to come: astrologically, February 27th is the luckiest day of 2010! So whatever you do this weekend, do it up! Sagittarius (Fire)

Sagittarians are such a well-loved sign of the Zodiac, they embody all the warmth and charm of the holiday season in which their birthdays fall – and that’s why we love them. They’re like Christmas all year long! This year we are all going to be happy for the good luck that our Sagittarius friends will have in many aspects of their lives. Jupiter, the planet of gifts and good luck is passing over us this year and giving you a major winning streak. Jupiter's pleasant surprises will count double for Sagittarius since Jupiter is your planet (lucky you – literally). At the end of February, socializing is sure to be fun, and you should plan on spending lots of time entertaining friends. The new moon that happened on February 13th means that whatever you start around this time will probably be awesome and will almost surely succeed. New Moons are the beginning of a new heavenly phase, and allow us to clear out outmoded patterns and begin new projects with a clear head. Sagittarius, you should also note that you have fantastic aspects in your chart for finding love – especially in summer! If you make an attachment it will last, but the thing is you have to make it happen and don’t just depend on the stars to give it to you. Get yourself out there!

Capricorn (Earth)

Things are changing for you, Capricorn! Two eclipses in January in Cancer and Capricorn may have left you feeling confused, and maybe even a little bit stressed out. When eclipses happen so close to your sign it always makes you second guess yourself. It can also make you feel a little bit tired and burnt out, so if you haven't been feeling quite right lately, don't blame yourself! Things are going to get much, much better, and are only going to improve all year long.  Venus, the planet of love and happiness will be all up on you towards the end of February and beginning of March, and don't you worry, because even if the skies stay gray, Venus' lovely rays will make you feel like you've taken a tropical vacation. Now is a great time to work on your finances, which may have been effected during the chaotic eclipses. If you make new investments or start new money-making projects this month, they are likely to succeed and grow this year! If you've been looking for love Capricorn, you might have to wait until later on in the year, but you will have a lot on your plate at work to turn your attention towards other things. This year is going to be about getting your finances in order and making plans for the future. And with Jupiter in your tenth house of fame and honors, we are all finally going to give you the appreciation you deserve for your hard work and dedication!

Aquarius (Air)

Mars, the planet of aggression and action, was opposite your sun all last year. For those of you Aquarians who don't speak astro-geek, that means that you may have faced challenges making your ideas work all year long; you may have had particular troubles dealing with business partners and collaborators. Well, 2010 is the year of collaborations, after all, and things are definitely moving in to a much better aspect for you! Aquarians are know as the community builders of the Zodiac. They love to bring your friends together and have a knack for finding commonalities between very different people. But sometimes Aquarians run into problems with potential collaborators because their ideas seem so "far out" that others can't even keep up with their new age philosophy. Aquarians are in luck because when Mars comes out of retrograde on March 10th, all of the ideas that they have been dreaming up and all the plans they have laid will finally fall in to place. 2010 is going to be the year that Aquarians see their brilliant ideas become reality, and the rest of the Zodiac will be floored by the groundbreaking schemes that they share with the world.

Pisces (Water)

Lucky fish! Pisces, get ready for one of the best years of your lives! We don't want to jinx things, but the stars have aligned, and all the planets have agreed to throw a major disco in your chart! You can send thank you cards to Jupiter, the giver of gifts and rewards, for organizing things. Jupiter is in your sign almost all year long. Because Jupiter's orbit around the sun is so lengthy, he showers his gifts on a given star sign only once every ten years. Pisces is truly lucky this year, and there will be much going on in Pisces’ life in all areas. But don't fear, the rest of the Zodiac is not jealous, lucky Pisces, you've totally earned this awesome year through all your hard work you've done and the love you've spread! Pisces is know as the most caring and charitable sign of the Zodiac. That's why we're all cheering for you this year, since Jupiter passing through your house means lots of "togetherness," friendship, and community spirit for the rest of us. With Jupiter in Pisces, this would be a great year for diplomats from around the globe to get together and try to solve world hunger and create world peace! Somebody email Hillary Clinton!   Pisces are bound to have so much going on in the next few months that they will definitely need to slow down and plan to take time off for relaxation. Whenever you can, schedule a massage, get a manicure, or take a weekend trip with friends or a lover; any time off you take will be greatly deserved. The stars predict that you will travel frequently this year for work, or if you are a student, you might be doing important research abroad. If you can, plan on taking a vacation of pure indulgence this spring or summer, wherever you go, you will have a totally awesome trip! Definitely plan on taking lots of pictures this year, because you will want to remember all the fun you're going to have for years to come!

Virgo (Earth)

2009 might have been a very rocky year for you... Uranus, the planet of tests and challenges, was in your sign all year long meaning that you may have had to re-evaluate many aspects of your life. The big lunar eclipse that happened on New Year's eve sent Uranus packing, and began a new cycle that should be fresh and exciting. Jupiter is high in our sky this year, and is showering rewards down on all the signs of the Zodiac in different areas of our lives. For you, lucky Virgo, that area is love and partnership! The starts are bound to be playing matchmaker sometime soon, but if they aren’t, then they may be planning to set you up with a new business partner. Other people will help you this year, and working with them will help you create something great. So think like Opening Ceremony: this is your year to feature collaborations!

Scorpio (Water)

At her seminar, Susan told us that her favorite astrological phrase is that "the planets are dancing across" your chart. You may feel that the planets have been off their feet for a while, and you might be right, but we imagine they were taking flamenco lessons and getting their dancing shoes ready for this fabulous year. The stars are going to be dancing all year long, but this month everyone is invited to kick things off with a big dance party! Neptune is going to shimmy on to the floor first thing this month, meaning that you will feel exceptionally imaginative and dreamy. This year, your dreams are going to be quite luxurious and should focus on the home. If you are planning to re-decorate your home this is the time to get started! If you do decide to redecorate, make sure you get things done before this fall, because the stars suggest you may be hosting, or visiting, family around the end of the summer, and either way, the trip is supposed to be ultra-fun!

Cancer (water)

2009 may have been a rather no-frills year, dear Cancer, but with generous Jupiter in the water sign Pisces, this will be your year to shake things up! With a build-up of planets in your ninth house of publicity and news, the next few months are going to be an awesome time to start new creative projects and really get them noticed. If you are a writer, photographer, or publicist, or do anything in a creative field, don't be afraid to put yourself out there, this is your time to shine! This spring, you may come across some sort of a new development in your home- maybe this means putting up new curtains, or maybe it means moving in to a new apartment. It could also mean getting a new room-mate or moving in with a significant other. Cancerians are the home-bodies of the zodiac, and a happy home means a happy Cancer. It would not be odd if you find yourself compulsively surfing Craigslist apartments for the next couple of months. Whatever you are planning, Susan suggests that you wait until after the full moon on June 30 to finalize big plans. The best advice for Cancerians this year is to open up and welcome new energy in to your life! This year has great vibrations in store for everyone, but you will need to get in to the groove and make some moves!

Leo (Fire)

This year has many awesome surprises in store for you! Susan listed so many dates to look out for that you are definitely going to need to read all of your monthly forecasts and mark down dates on your calendar... Don't let a skeptical GF or BF make you feel silly for being an astronerd; proud Leo should try reading Susan's forecast for their significant other and surprise them by giving them the dates for all the major developments coming up! Leo will have their proverbial day in the sun this month on February 28th, when Jupiter conjuncts their ruling sign, the Sun. Plan to spend this day with friends, be the host, or go to a party! Travel is in the stars for many signs of the Zodiac this year, but the urge to go on an adventure will be particularly strong for Leo. If you are planning a trip, Susan recommends going away during the Spring or the fall. This summer is supposed to be so busy at home for Leos that they should definitely plan to stick around and enjoy the flurry of activity that is sure to develop around them. However, if you are in a relationship, you might want to plan a weekend getaway in June or July. Romance will be buzzing around this time of year, and you are going to feel great about it! Furthermore, it’ll be a great money year for you (as Leo’s do hate the word budget), but the money wont come in from your salary. Expect to see it from an unexpected source like scholarships, the government, or side projects.

Aries (Fire)

You may have been having a rocky year in 2009; like famous Aries, Conan O’Brien who left his late night show and his home in New York City to move to LA where he took over Jay Leno’s coveted slot on the Tonight show, you might have gone through many hard changes at work and home. 2010 is going to be a very different year. February holds the luckiest day of the year, February 27th , and during the week leading up to this day all the VIPs in your life are going to be contacting you with offers of support for all of the projects you will be dreaming up. 2010 is going to be the year for you to finally turn all the great ideas you have in to reality. This summer between June 8th to September 9th, Jupiter, the planet of luck and rewards will be in Aries for the first time in many years. When Jupiter’s lucky presence comes in to your life, that is your time to shine, and many doors will open up to you. This summer is going to be a great time to travel because of lucky Jupiter, and any trip that you might take will most certainly be fun, and might even be life changing! And With Saturn, the planet of longevity, in your marriage sector for the first time in many years, you are also in a great position for taking a relationship to the next level, and if you aren’t currently in a relationship, love (or partnership) will be seeking you out in the new year. All-together, this is going to be a great year for you, and many positive changes are in store.

Libra (Air)

Lucky Libra, known as the Zodiac’s arbiter of style and taste, is going to get serious about health and fitness this year. If you’ve been thinking about joining a new gym, taking up a new exercise regimen, or trying Pilates for the first time, now is the perfect time to begin and you are going to need stylish new workout gear to keep you motivated. Susan told us her fitness story, about when her daughter Chrissie gave her a whole new wardrobe of Nike gear a few years ago, and she couldn’t emphasize enough how much her new clothes made her feel better about getting in shape. Aside from your new fitness routine, you can look forward to the period between March 10th and June 7th when Mars will be firmly positioned in your house of friends and fun, meaning that friends will be ringing your phone off the hook asking you for style advice and companionship.

Taurus (Earth)

With Jupiter moving in to Aquarius last year, marking the beginning of a new 12 year cycle in your life you may have been on a roller coaster ride in 2009, making many big decisions and big changes. 2010 is going to be your year to settle in to a new routine and make new friends with whom you will enjoy the ride. February and March are going to be outstanding months to make new friends, so make sure you RSVP now to all the invitations you've been getting in the mail! This might sound crazy to hardworking Taureans, but you may actually want to take some time off work because your social schedule is going to be so hectic. But try not to worry too much about the office, because time spent socializing should pay-off in the long run; people you meet right now could end up being exceptional clients, colleagues, or supporters in the future. The eclipses that happened in January, and the two coming up on June 27th and July 11th will give you the travel bug, and you could find yourself obsessively checking for cheap flights online! Indulge your urge to splurge on travel, because you are feeling more adventurous than ever at the moment, and you are bound to be inspired wherever you go. With all this moving and shaking in your life, you are definitely going to want some refined new duds to suit your advanced Taurean sensibilities and refined tastes.

Gemini (Air)

2010 is going to be a great year for you, Gemini! Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck will be "dancing through your chart," as Susan says, in many areas of your life. Your tenth house of career will be the first to host Jupiter's disco dance party, and it’s going to be the party of the year! Gemini is known as the life of the party, dazzling everyone with their quick wit and unique perspective, and with Jupiter as your date at work, you are going to attract a lot of attention. But Susan did remind us that when the stars align in our favor we must still be sure to "show the universe our intentions." So make sure you show up early to all your meetings at work this year! February 27th is going to be the luckiest day of the year for all the signs, but this date should be especially joyous for Geminis. Make sure you plan something special for this day and spend it with friends! Play a game of mini-golf or enter a raffle, you are bound to win! Saturn is going to be in Gemini's fifth house of love this year, and that is going to make Gemini reassess his attitude towards dating and relationships. If you are currently looking for love, try exploring new venues and meeting new people; even if you don't find the one, you are bound to make new friends! If you already have a special someone, try spicing things up. Ask your squeeze to go on a date around Valentine's day and surprise them by taking them somewhere really special!
