Having an imaginary friend doesn't mean you don't have any real friends, it just means you have a more active imagination than all the other kids. Right? London-based designer Emma Cook and her imaginary muse, Susie, pretty much confirm this. Susie even helps her design her collections. Taking on a new persona for every season, from punky Suzy-Styrene to Lonesome Suzanne and, my favorite, Lazy Susan, Susie acts as an embodiment of all things current in Emma's imagination.
Judging by the resort collection, Susie is no longer lazy or lonesome. Brimming with exotic floral and animal prints, Emma's famous prints are back for another season, covering loose silk camisoles and jersey T-shirts in a slightly 80s airbrushed haze. Fade-out zebra stripes combine with leather shorts, stretchy printed bodysuits, and bright lurex knits, for a collection that suggests Susie's gone wild for spring.
