Designer Yuki Matsuda, the mastermind behind footwear brand Yuketen, also finds the time to collect whole racks of vintage military jackets (how does he do it?!). Monitaly, Yuki's line of traditional-with-a-twist menswear, takes inspiration from his G.I. finds, and real construction methods too. This season’s leather bomber, for example, has military spec poppers and is produced at the same factory where the US army makes theirs.

Details go beyond the call of duty in Monitaly's outerwear this season—the mountain parka is lined with the thickest, heavy-knit wool and the down fill in the quilted vest is the same insulation used by mountaineers.
