On Wednesday, artist and National Exemplar Gallery co-owner Eneas Capalbo opened up his space to display Love Roses, a special sculpture by Dan Colen and Nate Lowman. The piece consists of hundreds of crack pipes, each one containing a rose, assembled to form a curtain. You have to walk through the curtain to enter the gallery, thereby experiencing the physicality of the piece. In a weird and cool way, you walk through the piece to discover that what you came to see is already behind you.
In another room is also a small collection of free postcards assembled by the artists. On the cards are photographs of their pieces from former exhibitions, as well as mail art-like work. Faces from Dash Snow’s circle of family and friends were also there (Jade Berreau and his grandmother Christophe de Menil among them) – his memory lives on.

Hey Tom,Fixed that, my bad. For some reason, I only rembeeermd that one painting. Also, I meant to say While, I’m not arguing that the Big Picture show should or should not have gotten a Times review (These guys are my friends), it was at some point in the pipe line for publication. I think I'm a bit biased here. Cheers,Bill
