OC Kids: Q & A with Gavin McInnes
As Jenné Lombardo showed us earlier this week, OC Kids always boast the most awesome parents. Gavin McInnes, founder of Vice Magazine and current Editor of Street Boners and TV Carnage, is downright hilarious and one of the coolest dads we know. Peep our Q & A with him and his charming little ones, and find out what they picked from our brand new OC Kids section!

What are your kids' names and how did you pick them?

Sophie Whiterabbit McInnes and Duncan Whitethunder McInnes. The middle names are because my wife is an Indian and ergo, so are they. We were worried the name Sophie was too common but then we thought, "Fuck it, people are named Mike and they live." We liked Penny and were considering Sadie but my grandmother went ballistic because Sadie is a gross old lady name in Scotland. Duncan is a very traditional Scottish name and that made the family very happy (I'm Scottish) but Dunkin Donuts may be a problem in grade school.

What were their first word(s)?
Sophie said "Bye" one morning when I was going to work and my son's were, "hot dog." Waiting to hear Daddy and Mommy takes way too long. I wish they said those right out the womb.

What's their favorite treat?
Well, they say they love cupcakes but I've never seen one eaten below the icing.

Favorite spot in the city?

We like going to Kent. St. Park in Williamsburg because they can ride their scooters and kick a ball around or play on the trains and throw rocks into the river.

Describe your ideal Saturday with Sophie and Duncan.
I like getting out of the city and going on nature walks with them. Duncan will hit at branches with a stick and Sophie will catch salamanders. Sometimes we see a snake and they both crap their pants.

When they grow up, they each want to be  __________.
Sophie: A artist [sic].
Duncan: Continue being Spiderman.

What are your OC KIDS picks?
For Sophie, the Opening Ceremony by A for Apple Anita Flare Coat in red fuzzy and the Audrey Jersey Godet Dress. For Duncan, the Opening Ceremony by A for Apple Aaron Oxford Shirt in red cotton and the Andre French Sailor Shirt in red/navy.
