Just Eat It: The Best Eats in Hong Kong
Here’s a not-so-secret secret: Hong Kong’s tastiest food is not its haute cuisine, although that kind of fare is certainly available to those who seek it. What makes Hong Kong’s culinary experience so memorable is the simple local food you can find at the “everyday” and roadside restaurants.

Those kinds of joints have a way of permeating your sensorial memory so that even before you retell stories about your eating adventures to your friends, you can hear the hustle and bustle in the restaurant, smell the fragrance of light oil hitting the wok, feel your teeth bite into a crisp vegetable or succulent meat, and taste the refreshing tropical fruit juices that you just can’t get here in New York – all because the food was that good.

During the OC sojourn to Hong Kong in the name of OC For Lane Crawford (see pics from our trip here!), we discovered a few local places that dished up some pretty amazing meals, be it a congee breakfast, a dim sum brunch, a hot pot dinner, or a late supper after a night out. Check out our recs below!
