For me, it was the "Heartbreaker" Making of the Video -- the moment I became uncontrollably, embarrassingly obsessed with Mariah Carey.  Remember the part where she dances and lip syncs to the music in double time, so the playback of the video is in slow motion, but her lips move perfectly to the music? Or the jean shorts with the waistband cut off? Or the fight with her evil doppelganger, Bianca? Or the cartoon rap interlude with Jay Z? (I could go on--trust!) Most children of the 90s probably have similar memories forcibly lodged in their brains by MTV, Kiss FM, product endorsements, or a middle school dance. It's that kind of pop cultural ubiquity and shared nostalgia that defines exactly why Mimi is such a love-her-or-hate-her (but she's here to stay!) icon of our times. Even after Tommy Mottola, through the Bad Boy/O.D.B./Bone Thugs collabs, post-Glitter, and up to her excellently produced records of late, Mimi continues to churn out the hits.  So in honor of the diva's bday (yesterday), we present this memorable photo series along with our Mariah-inspired gifts.
