What Is Intarsia?
As mythic as it sounds, intarsia is not a method of mind control, style of constellation, or scientific hypothesis on spontaneous combustion. A knitting technique derived from jigsaw-like woodworking (peep some epic eagle art in the style!), intarsia--as it relates to clothes--is a mix of trompe l'oeil and actual disjointure that creates a puzzle-piece effect in a fabric. Cool, no?

I mean, don't take our word for it--there are some sweet specimens at Opening Ceremony right now! Check out the state flags, fake stains, and sand art mirages created by intarsia from Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, and Rodarte for OC!
