The Burro Boot by Mark McNairy & ADOC
This spring, Mark McNairy teams up with legendary workwear brand Empresas ADOC to reinvent a Central American classic: the San Salvador Burro Boot. Exclusive to Opening Ceremony, this seriously durable, modestly stylish pair features an extra-thick vulcanized rubber sole, triple-stitched seams, and rich suede hues that, together, create the perfect intersection of form and function. A true steal at $125 a pair, these timeless boots are the kind you buy three at a time.

Check out the 4-color capsule collection, plus a few vintage ADOC posters, an outrageously adorable photo of designer and son, and the interview I recently did with Mark!

What initially attracted you to partnering with ADOC?
Making much from what is at hand. An amazing company with a good heart.

At what point did you realize you wanted to design footwear?
When I discovered J. Press was not going to renew my contract.

What does your favorite suit look like?
A grey poly/bulletproof wool sack suit made for me by Southwick. 3-button upper welt pocket, lower patch-&-flap pockets, center hook vent. Plain front trousers with 1 " cuffs.

Describe Mark McNairy New Amsterdam in three words.
Understated. Classic. Fun.

One can never go wrong wearing SKIN (otherwise, there is always that risk).
