Scott Sternberg really knows how to make a vision come to life, and that he did this season with a sand-filled presentation at Milk studios. The Boy and Band of Outsiders collections were inspired by Jacques Cousteau's Le Monde du Silence, whose vibrant seascapes we felt in the pops of colorful accessories, like bright beanies, matched with pastels, khaki, washed-out blues, and his ever-superlative grey suits. The influence echoed in the Ruscha-esque airbrushed and dip-dyed denim shirts: lambent new styles for these cult-favorite pieces.
The "Malibu in the 70s" vibe, as Sternberg put it, was perfected in the playful styling that included suspenders worn slung down on the sides of pants, and suits paired with new versions of the Band of Outsiders x Sperry boat shoes. Not to mention the awesome props, which came in the form of metal detectors, vintage luggage, hammocks, and scooters stocked and ready for a ride down the PCH. With The Beach Boys on full blast, the ambiance was set for another impressive collection from Sternberg.
