OC x NYFW: Olympia and Spike's Fantastic Film
Last night, the fantastic Monsieur Andre hosted a small screening and celebration for Mourir auprès de Toi, a short film by Olympia Le-Tan, Spike Jonze, and Simon Cahn. Olympia spent many months cutting tiny figures out of felt, which came alive from her famous book clutches as imagined by Spike and Simon (as well as a team of French animators). A beautiful love story between a skeleton and a bodacious babe, Mourir auprès de Toi (To Die By Your Side) is fantastical, romantic, a bit sad and quite funny. Andre's super-white Chinatown studio was transformed into a comfy screening room slash cocktail venue, with homemade dumplings circulating in a little nod to the neighborhood. Congratulations, Olympia and Spike!
