Currently reading: Weaverbird and Other Words by Mark Hundley
What makes this book club worthy: All together now! A broad selection of the prolific canadian artist Marc Hundley's thoughtful, compelling work is collected in this diminutive volume. Marc told me he wanted Weaverbird to feel like a book of poetry and the pieces do sit on their pages like poems, quiet and heavy. The ephemeral nature of the work makes the book's permanence all the more precious—many of the posters reproduced in Weaverbird were made to commemorate special events where all the copies were given away. This Joni Mitchell flyer was for a party at my house and I never got one! I think the copy machine was broken and he only made two. Now I'll have it forever...
