Consider the fact that Thierry Lasry has an optician for a father and a designer for a mother, and you might say he was destined to become a force in the optical world. (He does!) But family tree aside, it really only takes a quick glance at his work to see why the designer has swiftly risen to the top since his 2006 debut.
Committed to creating "future vintage," the Frenchman designs eyewear that is authentic, antique, but also avant-gardist. Adding a touch of unorthodox texture to classic 60s and 70s silhouettes, Lasry has developed a line of mesmerizing sunglasses that, season after season, continue to woo. (And with style names like Obsessy, Spicy, Sexxxy, Hooky, and Lively--each purposely ending with a "y," like the designer's name--it's hard not to be instantly intrigued.)
