When the sixth largest snowstorm in the history of New York City hit last night setting a wonderful blanket of snow and silence over the city, we knew exactly what it meant: snow day! Sure enough, planes, trains and automobiles today weren't going anywhere--so we decided to cook up a selection of our favorite things perfect for a day full of back-to-back catnaps, hot cocoa, baking (before you resolve to cut back as of January 1st, naturally), and DVD-watching.
What are you doing to stay comfy and cozy at home today? Recipes, movie recs and arts & crafts suggestions welcome!
Mulled wine! SUPER easy to make, too: Bring some sugar and water to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add spices: cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, whole cloves, vanilla, a small orange, nutmeg and cinnamon (or anything wintery you can get your hands on) + dry red wine. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes tops. So delicious.

Stay in bed all day covered with your favourite patchwork blanket and put on some super cozy wool socks and watch some nice dreamy movies you've already seen and know by heart like lost in translation or eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Preferably with a warm person next to you:)or a hot water bottle. works just as well;)
