Art Basel: South Beach Bringing The Heat
Every year art lovers flock the coop down to the south--Miami Beach, to be exact--for Art Basel. This year I decided to see what the hype was all about by indulging in art exhibitors from all over the world. Needless to say, I was so overwhelmed by all the events, exhibitions, and parties taking place that this brought me to the beach. Which leads me to my next question, what happens if you put together beach and party? Most would say beach party! Instead it was a private beach party with (ahem) none other than James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.

That’s right, 3 fences later (or should I say over) and a couple bruises to prove it, we stumbled upon a private LCD Soundsystem performance at the Raleigh Hotel (sand floors included). After our voices were stripped and our legs  jello’d from dancing so hard, we returned to the beach for our own dance party.

Next day arrives, and before we decide to jump into the art attack we decide to visit the beach one more time for some important people watching, serious tanning, and of course, some swimming in the crystal clear waters of South Beach, Miami.

Now back in cold New York, I can only cling to the sand that is still in my hair and dreams of next year for more inspiring late nights and early mornings.
