"You really don't love me. Maybe you're just obsessed. Maybe it's just a crush". Biting words they may be, but when they were told to an editor of Crush Fanzine, it inspired him to channel his energy in a more healthy way. Crush is for the obsessed, and in their sophomore issue Nicolas Wagner and Khary Simon called upon a bevy of queer artists, writers, and designers to bring one obsession into focus: feet.
Apparently it wasn't very hard to find people to admit to the fetish, as writers like Rocky Casale, artists like Slava Mogutin and Sebastien Meunier, and performers like Gio Black Peter all contributed to the issue. The magazine has a boutique sensibility (only 1000 copies and $10 each), but the success of the first installment brought in advertisers like Diesel, Nike, and Opening Ceremony to create an ad specifically for the issue. Their launch party at Envoy Gallery showed off the work featured in the magazine, and hosted a performance by Gio Black Peter featuring Brian Kenny at neighboring Home Sweet Home.
