Teenager Brittany McMillan started a Facebook group to designate today, October 20, as Spirit Day, a day in which people would wear purple in honor of the six teenagers who had committed suicide because of anti-gay bullying and bullying-related suicide.
The Rob Pruitt Flea market not only gave you an opportunity to buy amazing finds from the artist himself, but the proceeds of those sales went to an incredible cause: The Trevor Project. Developed to help struggling and suicidal LGBTQ youth, the organization provides resources including a 24/7 crisis hotline for young people in need. The Trevor Project was born out of the 1994 Academy Award-winning short film, Trevor, which dealt with the suicide attempt of a 13-year-old gay teen.
