When Team OC travels, there are a few immediate priorities: scope out the Japanese food markets for packaged noodles, find the best french fries and taxidermy in town, and most importantly, locate the most tucked away vintage shops. Last time we were in Paris, I was psyched to bring the gang to one of my standbys, Thanx God I'm a VIP (I can't get enough of the name, which is probably a deterrent to most). Nestled on a quiet street behind the Place de la République, Thanx God has a pretty unparalleled selection of 70s and 80s YSL and Lanvin deadstock, along with color-coded racks of other goodies. Owner Sylvie Chateigner is a disarmingly cool, chain-smoking doyenne of vintage, and also throws parties around town.
