Everyone over a certain age who is into fashion has an Agnès b. memory. As a teenager, I dreamed of owning one of the black and white striped t-shirts and a cotton Lolita backpack, and was beyond psyched to see two recognizable silver-wrapped packets under the Christmas tree one year. I would wander around the San Francisco store, wanting absolutely everything, including the posters on the wall of exhibitions at the Paris Galerie du Jour. The iconic French brand has been producing the most perfect basics since 1975, when Ms. b opened her first store at Les Halles, which is now a street-long mini-empire including men's, women's, kid's, and a travel store. In anticipation of the September 10th launch of Agnes b. Pour Opening Ceremony, Agnès has shared with us some images from the depths of the company's archives.
