Time seems to have flown by since we opened OC Tokyo! To celebrate the store's one-year anniversary, I decided (last minute!) to go on vacation with my best friend Natsu to the island that people call the closest to paradise, Nouvelle Calédonie. It only took 8.5 hours to get to the island whose time difference from Japan is only 2 hours. This came as a surprise, since I had always thought the island to be located far, far away from my home country! New Caledonia is a former French colony, so I had to use my English skills with lots of gestures to communicate with the very friendly people :). Everything we saw was breathtaking, especially at the beach where the color of the water gradually changes from clear to light blue, turquoise, emerald blue and deep blue. We tried to book a domestic flight to one of the small desert islands, such as Île Ouvéa or Île des Pins, but they were sold out! We will visit there next time, for sure! Regardless, New Caledonia still has many beautiful islands surrounding Nouméa, its capital. With swimming floaters on my arms, I went snorkeling for the first time in my life and saw lots of tropical fish and the most beautiful corals! This was definitely a precious and memorable trip!
