Those who know me well know that the thought of food occupies a huge part of my consciousness. With a mission to get away on a short trip, I planned a getaway to Yountville with a few things in mind: eat, drink, and read.
Driving past SF, I made my way to a small town near Napa Valley called Yountville. I stayed at Bardessono since it was within walking distance from all of the restaurants I wanted to try out in Yountville. I began my stay with lunch at Bistro Jeanty, where I had pieds de cochon persilles (pig's feet with haricots salad), oysters, and épaule de porc (slow-roasted pork shoulder with fava bean purée). Boy, was I full! I walked back to the hotel and rested for a few hours before venturing out again for more food at Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc, where I ordered cowboy steak, baked potatoes, and homemade pecan bars! The next day, we went for burgers at Taylor's in St. Helena, taking a drive through Calistoga and Napa. It was so beautiful and the air was so fresh! Being in a food coma, let's just say that when I got home from the trip, all I wanted to eat for a week was fruit!
