Last night, we were lucky enough to catch The Drums play a show to an excited crowd at the NADA Art Fair. One of the many satellite fairs taking place this week, NADA (short for the New Art Dealers Alliance) showcases artists' work from galleries like The Journal Gallery, White Columns, and others from around the world. NADA took over the Deauville Hotel, a short cab ride from South Beach. The Deaville became famous as the second stop on the Beatles first American tour (captured for pop posterity on The ed Sullivan show). Indeed, the Napoleon Room felt like a fitting performance space for The Drums, a band that counts "the golden era of pop" as a defining influence. Drummer Connor told us that "a lot of the bands we're interested in are from that time like The Shangri-La's and the Zombies." Their performance did not disappoint... check out the band's raucous on-stage antics and sweet sounds in a video captured for your viewing pleasure.
The back up singers were a nice touch.
